Odyssey Golf, founded in 1991 and acquired by Callaway Golf in 1997, is the most dominant putter brand in professional golf, holding the number-one position in count on the PGA Tour for more than two decades. The brand's influence stems from relentless innovation in face insert technology, alignment systems, and putter design, making it a benchmark for performance-driven putting equipment. Odyssey's success is rooted in its ability to blend feel, consistency, and forgiveness, qualities that matter enormously on the greens, where even marginal improvements in roll quality can translate to strokes saved. Odyssey's signature innovation is its insert technology, beginning with the Stronomic insert in the 1990s and evolving through iterations like White Hot, Microhinge, and Stroke Lab. The White Hot insert, introduced in the early 2000s, became one of the most successful putter faces in history, known for its soft feel and consistent roll characteristics. More recently, Odyssey introduced the Ai-ONE insert, which uses an aluminum backer and urethane striking surface designed to maintain ball speed consistency across the face, reducing distance loss on mishits. The brand's Stroke Lab putters feature a multi-material shaft construction aimed at improving tempo and face control through optimized weight distribution. Odyssey's product range spans traditional blade designs, mallet configurations, and high-MOI models equipped with advanced alignment aids like the Triple Track system, which uses contrasting lines to improve visual accuracy at address. The brand appeals to golfers across all skill levels, from tour professionals like Phil Mickelson and Xander Schauffele to recreational players seeking forgiveness and improved performance on the greens. As part of Topgolf Callaway Brands, Odyssey benefits from substantial R&D resources and global distribution, maintaining its leadership through continuous innovation and tour validation in the game's most scrutinized equipment category.
