Overview

These terms cover what you agree to when you use dormied.com. We have kept them direct because we are a small independent operation and we have no interest in making a simple thing complicated. By using dormied.com, by subscribing to The Scorecard, or by interacting with the site in any way, you agree to what follows.

These terms apply to dormied.com and any related properties operated by Dormied Inc. They do not apply to third-party sites we link to. Each of those operates under its own terms.

What DORMIED Is

DORMIED is golf's brand desk. We track golf brands, publish the DORMIED Index, write monthly editorial in The Scorecard, and cover daily brand news through The Feed. We are independent. We are opinionated. We assume our readers follow this stuff closely and we write accordingly.

The DORMIED Index ranks golf brands by attention, calculated from search volume across 10 global markets. The numbers are facts. The analysis around them is editorial. Both are ours.

Editorial Independence

No brand pays for placement on the DORMIED Index. No brand pays for coverage in The Scorecard or The Feed. Rankings move based on data, not on who picks up the phone.

We may write about brands we admire, brands we find baffling, and brands somewhere in between. We may write favorably about a brand one month and unfavorably the next, depending on what the data says and what they are doing. None of it is for sale.

We may, in the future, take advertising. If we do, ad units will be clearly labeled and they will not influence editorial coverage or rankings. We will update these terms before that happens.

Intellectual Property

All editorial content on dormied.com, including The Scorecard, articles in The Feed, brand analysis, the DORMIED Index, the DORMIED logo, and the visual design of the site, is our intellectual property. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source page, the way any reasonable person would quote a publication. You may not republish full articles, scrape content at scale, or use DORMIED Index data in commercial products without permission.

Brand names, logos, and product images appearing on dormied.com are the property of their respective owners. They are used for identification and editorial coverage under fair use. We do not claim ownership of any third-party trademarks.

User Conduct

When you use dormied.com or subscribe to The Scorecard, you agree not to:

  • Scrape the site at scale or use automated tools to extract content beyond what a normal reader would consume.
  • Resell, repurpose, or syndicate DORMIED content without written permission.
  • Sign up for The Scorecard with a fake email or someone else's email.
  • Attempt to interfere with the operation of the site or its underlying systems.
  • Use any DORMIED data, ranking, or editorial work to misrepresent your affiliation with us, or imply that we endorse a product or company.

Disclaimers

The DORMIED Index measures attention, not quality. A brand ranking high on the Index is not a recommendation that you buy from them. A brand ranking low is not a warning to avoid them. The Index reflects what golfers are searching for, not what they should be searching for.

Our editorial coverage represents our analysis and opinion based on publicly available information and the data we track. It is not investment advice. It is not legal advice. It is not advice on what equipment to put in your bag. If you are making a financial decision, consult a financial advisor. If you are buying a driver, hit a few first.

We do not guarantee that dormied.com will be available at all times, free of bugs, or free of inaccuracies. We try to keep it running and accurate. We will not always succeed. If you spot an error, email us.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dormied Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of dormied.com or reliance on its content. If something goes wrong, our total liability is limited to whatever you have paid us, which for most readers is nothing.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will note them in The Scorecard or notify subscribers by email.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware in the United States, where Dormied Inc. is incorporated. Any dispute arising from your use of dormied.com will be resolved in the courts of Delaware, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
