KBS Golf, founded in 2008 and operating under FST (Femco Steel Technology), has become one of the most respected steel shaft manufacturers in the golf industry. The brand built its reputation on tight manufacturing tolerances, consistent performance, and a range of shaft profiles designed to suit different swing types and player preferences. KBS shafts are known for their distinctive step patterns and tour-validated performance characteristics, with models like the Tour, C-Taper, and $-Taper becoming staples in professional and amateur bags alike. The brand supplies shafts to major OEMs and custom club builders, and its products are widely used on professional tours around the world. KBS has won multiple shaft counts at major championships, a key credibility metric in the equipment business. The company's success stems from a focus on quality control and performance consistency, KBS shafts are manufactured to tighter weight and frequency tolerances than many competitors, which appeals to both tour players and serious amateurs who demand precision. The brand has expanded into graphite shafts in recent years, adding models like the Max and PGI to complement its steel offerings, though steel remains its core identity. KBS operates in a competitive shaft market dominated by brands like True Temper, Nippon, and Project X, but it has carved out a strong position through tour validation and word-of-mouth credibility among club fitters and builders. The brand's challenge is maintaining differentiation as shaft technology becomes increasingly commoditized and as graphite options continue to gain share in the iron category. KBS's future likely depends on continued innovation and its ability to keep tour players and elite amateurs loyal to its steel shaft profiles.
