Jain Golf is built around a golf ball with a personality, which sounds like a gimmick until you look at who is behind it. Chris Hovsepian came out of Apple Music, where he managed artist relationships with Billie Eilish, 6LACK and Juice WRLD, and applied that instinct for character and narrative to a category that mostly sells fabric. Jain is the golf ball protagonist, the brand calls itself Golf's Family Company, and the product range deliberately refuses to sit in one place: apparel, a Jain Jr. children's line running from onesies to knitted vests, a coffee table book, art pieces, and an oversized yardage-book-shaped publication illustrated in Paris and printed in the UK. The stated goal is a golf Disneyland, and there is a camp waitlist. It has collaborated with Beams Golf to reach Japan and with the Home of Golf at St Andrews, and sells through HBX and PGA TOUR Superstore. The brand's real bet is that golf's growth problem is generational, and the way to solve it is to make something a parent and a child can both want.
