Hypegolf is a media platform that turned into a label, which is the opposite of how this usually goes. Kevin Ma started Hypebeast as a sneaker blog in his Vancouver bedroom in 2005, moved to Hong Kong, and built it into a company listed on the exchange under 150 with three divisions: Hypemedia, the creative agency Hypemaker, and the retail platform HBX. Hypegolf sits alongside Hypebae, Popbee and Hypeart as one of the vertical brands, launched in 2021 as Ma's own golf interest deepened, and it functions as editorial, retail curation and an in-house apparel label at once. That triple role is the thing worth understanding. Hypegolf covers golf collaborations, sells them through HBX, and produces its own, including two capsules with Dongjoon Lim of POST ARCHIVE FACTION and a 2025 collection with Oakley built around the C1 Bark Pullover and Driven Tee. It opened the Hypegolf Clubhouse in SoHo the same year. No other brand on the Index has that much control over both the demand signal and the supply.
