Draw & Fade Modern is a knitwear brand that happens to be about golf, which is an unusual place to start. Taylor Olson Freed built it around premium sweaters and crewnecks with details a player notices, most obviously sweater length engineered to be worn untucked without catching the club or interfering with grip. Recent collections have run custom artwork rather than logos, including a Walking Girl Crewneck that customers describe in terms of seeing themselves in the game. The brand's founding grievance is specific and structural rather than aesthetic: Olson has been vocal about golf's tee-box conventions and the fact that women have historically had to change a setting to post a score from further back. When the pandemic disrupted her original manufacturer at 80 percent completion, she moved production to the US and used the reset to lock in wage and sustainability standards. D&F is small, sells wholesale through Faire and direct, and reaches Australia and New Zealand through MODE GOLFER. It is the quietest brand in a loud category, and the knitwear specialisation is a real position rather than a hedge.
