500 Pro Shops in One Metro Area, and B. Draddy Just Renewed the Key to All of Them

What Happened With B. Draddy?

B. Draddy renewed its partnership with the Metropolitan Golf Association on a multi-year, exclusive basis, staying Official Apparel of the MGA and MGA Foundation since 2024. The MGA covers 500 member clubs and 180,000 golfers around New York. For Summit Golf Brands, that is pro shop distribution, not just sponsorship signage.

B. Draddy has renewed its deal with the Metropolitan Golf Association on a multi-year term, keeping its designation as the Official Apparel of the MGA and the MGA Foundation, a relationship that began in 2024. The agreement is exclusive, covering the MGA brand, its championships, and its charitable arm, and extends into joint event activations and digital advertising.

On paper this is the least glamorous announcement B. Draddy will make this year. The brand is already the Official Uniform and Apparel Provider of the 2026 Presidents Cup and an Official Uniform Supplier of the 2026 and 2028 U.S. Solheim Cup teams. Those are the deals that get screenshotted. A regional association renewal in Elmsford, New York, is not the one that travels. It is, however, the one closest to where the money actually changes hands.

Why Does the MGA Partnership Matter More Than It Looks for B. Draddy?

The MGA serves more than 180,000 golfers across more than 500 member clubs and courses in the greater New York area. That is the densest concentration of private club membership in the country, and it is the exact demographic that buys a $125 polo without pausing. More importantly, those 500 clubs each have a head professional controlling an open-to-buy, and the single hardest sale in golf apparel is the green grass buyer who already has four brands on the floor and no space for a fifth.

An Allied Golf Association tie is the cheapest known workaround to that problem. It puts the logo on championship merchandise, tournament staff, association communications and member events, which means the pro has seen the brand in his inbox and on his members' backs before a sales rep ever walks in. Compared to the cost of a tour uniform deal, association sponsorship is rounding error. Compared to buying your way onto a pro shop wall one club at a time, it is a bargain.

How Does Summit Golf Brands Use Regional Golf Associations?

The quote from Summit Golf Brands SVP Brendan McHugh is the giveaway. "While we're technically in the apparel business, at our core, Summit Golf Brands is a golf company." Translated out of executive, that is a statement about distribution strategy. Summit is a multi-brand house that sells through green grass accounts, not a DTC startup chasing Instagram conversion. Its brands live or die on reorders from club shops, and the association channel is how you stay in front of that buyer year-round without paying retail media rates.

It also explains the exclusivity clause, which is the sharpest term in the renewal. Nobody else gets to put apparel on an MGA event in the New York metro area. In a region where Holderness and Bourne, Peter Millar and a dozen smaller labels are all fighting for the same shelf, locking out the category at the association level for multiple years is worth more than another tour bag logo.

What Should the Industry Watch in B. Draddy's 2026 Calendar?

The risk is that association apparel can read as uniform rather than product. The fastest way to flatten a premium brand is to become the thing volunteers wear at a qualifier. B. Draddy's hedge is construction: the brand built its reputation on natural fibers, substantial knit weights and collars that still stand up after a season, and that quality is specifically what MGA chief executive Brian Mahoney cited in his half of the announcement. Quality is the only defense against the uniform problem, because a shirt people keep wearing stops being a uniform.

2026 is the year B. Draddy finds out whether the brand can hold two altitudes at once. The Presidents Cup gives it a global broadcast window, the MGA gives it the retail floor underneath, and a 22 percent month-over-month move on the DORMIED Index suggests the market is already pricing in the former. Watch whether the New York deal produces co-branded product or just signage. One builds a business in the brand's home market. The other is a logo on a tee marker.

What Else Do Golfers Ask About B. Draddy?

What does B. Draddy's MGA renewal actually include?

A multi-year extension of its designation as Official Apparel of the MGA and the MGA Foundation, on an exclusive basis across the MGA brand and its events, plus joint activation at in-person events and in digital advertising.

How large is the Metropolitan Golf Association?

The MGA serves more than 180,000 golfers across more than 500 member clubs and courses in the greater New York metropolitan area, making it one of the largest amateur associations in the country.

Why would a brand with Presidents Cup rights care about a regional association?

Tour and team deals deliver broadcast visibility. The association deal delivers access to the green grass buyer, the head professional controlling the pro shop open-to-buy, which is where premium apparel is actually sold.

What other apparel deals does B. Draddy currently hold?

It is the Official Uniform and Apparel Provider of the 2026 Presidents Cup and an Official Uniform Supplier of the 2026 and 2028 U.S. Solheim Cup teams.

What is the risk in an association apparel deal?

Association product can read as uniform rather than premium product, which flattens a brand's positioning. The defense is construction quality, which is what MGA chief executive Brian Mahoney cited in the renewal announcement.
