Forden Golf is a Montreal streetwear brand that took its logo from a physicist. Chad Gurman founded it in 2023, and the Swingman mark references Harold Eugene Doc Edgerton, the MIT scientist who invented the stroboscope and used it to shoot the stop-motion sequences of a golf swing that are still the most recognisable images in the sport's photographic history. That is a more considered piece of brand-building than the category usually manages. The product itself is graphic-led and affordable by current standards: scorecard tees, Local Muni shirts, Divot Masters graphics, mesh shorts, hoodies and crewnecks mostly between $40 and $110, plus headcovers, towels and umbrellas. Its most visible move has been a New Era headwear collaboration spanning 9Forty A-Frames, 59Fifty fitteds and truckers at $48, which puts Forden on the same shelf logic as Malbon and Bad Birdie without the same price. Canada is not a market that produces many golf apparel brands with international reach. Forden is trying to be one, and the New Era deal is how it gets shelf space to do it.
